The Chicago Cubs put on a majestic power display Monday at Great American Ball Park, with reigning Rookie of the Year Kris Bryant going deep three times and reigning Cy Young award winner Jake Arrieta adding an opposite-field bomb in an 11-8 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

On Tuesday night, Javier Baez upstaged them both.

In the top of the 15th inning, three batters after Bryant broke a 2-2 tie with an RBI single, Baez emphatically put the game out of reach, taking J.J. Hoover deep over the wall in center for his first career grand slam.

Baez, who had gone yard just once in his previous 13 games, is the first player to hit a grand slam in the 15th inning or later since Tino Martinez smacked a 15th-inning salami at Camden Yards in 1996.
