Watch: Beltran leaves game after clutching hamstring

Reuters

New York Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran left Tuesday's game against the Texas Rangers in the first inning after he appeared to tweak something in his lower half while running to first base.

The Yankees confirmed Beltran left the game with a tight right hamstring, which he clutched while running to first base after hammering a Cole Hamels offering into the left-field corner.

Beltran was attended to by Yankees trainer Steve Donohue before getting replaced on the basepaths by pinch runner Rob Refsnyder.

Manager Joe Girardi confirmed after the game an MRI came back clean and the veteran is listed as day to day.

The 39-year-old has been one of the Yankees' hottest hitters, slashing .330/.387/.642 with 10 home runs and 27 RBIs over the past 30 days.
