Mariners' Felix Hernandez: Will throw bullpen Tuesday

Hernandez (calf) will throw off the mound Tuesday for the first time since being placed on the DL earlier this month, Shannon Drayer of MyNorthwest.com reports.

Analysis:

Hernandez is planning on throwing 25-30 pitches during his bullpen session Tuesday. He recently began throwing from 75 feet after taking off his walking boot this past week. Hernandez is expected to return after the All-Star break around mid-July and once he is ready, he will likely make at least one rehab start before rejoined the Mariners.
