Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Set to leave team Wednesday morning
Kershaw will fly back to Los Angeles on Wednesday morning to meet with the team's back specialist, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis:
The Dodgers want to get a read on Kershaw's back issue, as the treatment he's been receiving "for a few weeks," per manager Dave Roberts, hasn't eliminated the discomfort. While the organization is keeping its fingers crossed that Kershaw will be able to make his start Friday, Jharel Cotton could end up getting the call if Kershaw doesn't get the green light from the training staff. Kershaw has made just one trip to the disabled list in his nine-year career.
