Report: Infante agrees to minors deal with Braves

Rick Osentoski / USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves have agreed to sign infielder Omar Infante to a minor league contract, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

Infante was designated for assignment by the Kansas City Royals on June 15 and became a free agent after clearing waivers on June 23.

Over the course of his 15-year career, Infante has played for four different teams, batting .271/.308/.387 with 82 home runs. Infante was with the Braves for three seasons, and had the only All-Star season of his career with Atlanta in 2010.

Ever since signing with Kansas City in 2014, his production began to suffer, as he batted .238/.269/.328 in the last three seasons while his playing time severely decreased.
