Red Sox's Clay Buchholz: Will make next start

Buchholz, who is 3-8 with a 5.90 ERA, will make his next start, which is expected to be Saturday at home against the Angels, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Analysis:

Only three of the 61 starters in the American League that have pitched at least 60 innings have a worse ERA than Buchholz, which illustrates the state of Boston's starting rotation. Manager John Farrell has limited options at the moment, particularly after Eduardo Rodriguez was demoted following his performance Monday (nine runs, 2.2 innings). So, Buchholz survives to make another start.
