Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Denies bone spur in elbow
Updating a previous report: Syndergaard told the media following his Monday start that "there's nothing structurally wrong with my elbow at all," Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Analysis:
Syndergaard's quip Monday was in direct response to multiple reports suggesting that he's been pitching with a bone spur in his right elbow. These seemingly erroneous reports were given validation, however, after the 23-year-old only lasted three innings against the Nationals on Monday, giving up five earned runs and seven hits. Although, Syndergaard claims it was simply a poor outing and there's no reason to believe he'll miss his next scheduled start.
