Giants' Josh Osich: Gives up lead Sunday

Osich gave up a run on a pair of hits over 1.1 innings Sunday against the Phillies.

Analysis:

Osich's struggles continued Sunday, as he surrendered the lead in the eighth inning of an eventual walk-off win. He has definitely regressed after posting a 2.20 ERA in 2015. While his 4.24 ERA isn't horrid, his 6.13 FIP indicates that he has actually been getting lucky with that ERA. He doesn't strike out a ton of batters and his control is suspect, but the real culprit is his susceptibility to the long ball (1.93 HR/9). His righty-lefty splits are glaring, so manager Bruce Bochy may want to limit his appearances to solely left-handed batters.
