Dodgers' Adrian Gonzalez: Getting two-day break

Manager Dave Roberts indicated Sunday that he will rest Gonzalez both of the next two days to reset mentally, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Analysis:

Gonzalez has been poor at the plate recently, collecting just two hits in 18 at-bats over his last five games. The veteran first baseman will yield Sunday's start to Scott Van Slyke, who could be a candidate to start there two days in a row, while Gonzalez will look to get back at it Tuesday when the Dodgers travel to Milwaukee.
