Nationals' Joe Ross: To start Monday
Ross has been confirmed as Monday's starter against the Mets, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
Analysis:
Ross' start will be bumped up due to Stephen Strasburg's scratched start Sunday and subsequent placement on the disabled list, while a pitcher (possibly Lucas Giolito, but more likely Austin Voth) will be recalled to start Tuesday. While Ross would have two starts next week regardless, it could result in another turn in the rotation late in the season. Either way, he will face two stagnant offenses in the Mets and Reds in his two starts, making him an attractive pitching option this week.
