Twins' Byung-ho Park: Sitting Sunday amid struggles

Park is out of the lineup Sunday against the Yankees, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Analysis:

After an 0-for-3, two-strikeout day dropped Park's batting average down to .194 for the season, the Korean slugger will get some time off Sunday, as Joe Mauer slots in at DH. Manager Paul Molitor has hinted in recent days that Park might be at risk of a demotion if he fails to turn things around soon, but there's been little evidence that Park is making progress. He's slashing .145/.236/.323 and has a 34.7 percent strikeout rate in June, a mark even higher than what he owns for the season (32.5%)
