Yankees' Alex Rodriguez: Out of Sunday's lineup

Rodriguez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Twins.

Analysis:

Following a streak of eight straight starts, Rodriguez will get the afternoon off, allowing manager Joe Girardi to give Carlos Beltran a day out of the field and use him at DH. Rodriguez has recorded at least one hit in seven of those eight games to raise his average up to .223, but making contact is still an issue for the 40-year-old. He also had at least one strikeout in all eight of those contests, including six in his last three games.
