Red Sox's Deven Marrero: Gets optioned
Marrero was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket on Saturday, Evan Drellich of the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis:
Marrero's second stint in the majors lasted only a week as he's being sent back down to Pawtucket with William Cuevas getting recalled Saturday. Marrero went 1-for-7 with three strikeouts during his short stay with the Red Sox. The 25-year-old will reassume a .216/.256/.264 slash line when he rejoins Pawtucket.
