Cubs' Ben Zobrist: Diagnosed with bruise

X-rays taken on Zobrist's ankle revealed only a bruise, but he is not expected to play Saturday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Zobrist was forced from Friday's game after being struck by a pitch on the back on the foot, but he does not appear to be dealing with any sort of serious setback, even if he may miss Saturday's game. The Cubs' lineup for Saturday's contest will ultimately determine whether or not Zobrist will miss any time with the ankle injury.
