Red Sox's Chris Young: Lands on disabled list Thursday

Young (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, Sean McAdam of Comcast Sports Net reports.

Analysis:

The Red Sox have yet to announce a corresponding roster move, but Young's placement on the disabled list means one less healthy and major-league-caliber outfielder in Boston. Young appeared to injure his hamstring Thursday while rounding first base and he looked to be in immense pain as he left the field. With Brock Holt (concussion) and Blake Swihart (ankle) also sidelined, Boston could have to get creative with its left field rotation until Holt is ready to return.
