San Francisco Giants fans appear to be coming through in the clutch for their catcher.

A late surge just over 24 hours before voting closes has pushed Buster Posey ahead of St. Louis Cardinals backstop Yadier Molina in National League All-Star voting, Major League Baseball announced Wednesday.

Posey has moved ahead of Molina by 107,000 votes, according to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Posey, who's enjoying a productive first half with a .280/.344/.447 line, was just 5,130 votes behind Molina in the last ballot update on Monday.

Mookie Betts wasn't so lucky, though. The Boston Red Sox outfielder is perilously holding on to the third AL outfield starting spot by just 50,000 votes. Mark Trumbo, Lorenzo Cain, and Jose Bautista are all keeping pace behind him.

Fan voting for the 87th All-Star Game in San Diego closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on June 30.
