MiLB catcher drilled by unexpected fastball

Lehigh Valley right-hander Colton Murray will probably think twice the next time he tries to quick-pitch an opposing batter.

During the eighth inning of Wednesday's 2-1 win over Norfolk, Murray, a pitcher for the Phillies' Triple-A affiliate, expedited his windup to the detriment of his unsuspecting catcher, Andrew Knapp, who was caught off guard by the quick-pitch and took a fastball square off the chest.

Knapp appears to have avoided a serious injury, though, as David Hall of the Virginian-Pilot reported the 23-year-old Phillies prospect stayed in the game. Knapp confirmed he was OK after the game with a cautionary tweet to catchers of all ages.
