Royals' Alex Gordon: Could return by the weekend

Gordon (wrist) could return over the weekend, Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star reports.

Analysis:

Gordon is just two games into his rehab assignment, but manager Ned Yost has liked what he's seen in that time, as the 32-year-old is 3-for-6 with a home run at the Double-A level. The initial plan was for Gordon to play in about five or six rehab games, so given his progress, he appears to be on track to finish that out in time to rejoin the Royals for their weekend set against the Astros.
