Frankie Montas' debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers is going to have to wait.

Montas is expected to be out of action for four-to-eight weeks with a broken rib, sources told FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, although the Dodgers responded saying there is no timetable as of yet.

Rosenthal writes the injury is related to an incident that required the surgical removal of another rib in February.

The 23-year-old Dominican flamethrower, who's hit 102 mph on the radar gun, was expected to be promoted to the majors to start Friday, according to Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times.

He owned a 2.25 ERA in the minors across seven appearances, four of which were starts, including 22 strikeouts in 16 innings.

Montas is the No. 4 prospect in the Dodgers organization, according to MLB Pipeline, and was acquired as part of the three-team Todd Frazier trade involving the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds that took place in December.

He made his major-league debut with the White Sox last September, appearing in seven games and making two starts, posting a 4.80 ERA.
