The San Francisco Giants are taking a risk to bring back one of their former bullpen arms from two of their World Series clubs, agreeing to a minor-league deal with right-hander Jean Machi, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.

Machi will report to Triple-A.

The 34-year-old, who won a World Series with the Giants in 2012 and 2014, was released from the Chicago Cubs organization last week after an arrest for public intoxication and urinating in public in Des Moines, Iowa.

He urinated on the bumper of a car and later challenged the owner of the vehicle to a fight, according to a police report.

He appeared in 20 games for the Cubs' Triple-A affiliate in Iowa, posting a 3.68 ERA in 29 1/3 innings of work prior to his release.

Machi last appeared in the big leagues for the Boston Red Sox in 2015.

Over the course of four big-league seasons, Machi owns a 3.47 ERA in 189 appearances.
