The teardown of the San Diego Padres roster is expected to continue through to the MLB trade deadline next month.

Sitting in the basement of the National League West, the Padres are reportedly active in trade discussions, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, though Wil Myers is likely staying put.

General manager A.J. Preller has been ultra aggressive during his two-year tenure and has several veteran pieces on his rebuilding club he could shop.

The Padres already parted ways with James Shields earlier this month, while catcher Derek Norris and outfielder Matt Kemp have found themselves the subject of trade rumors. Melvin Upton Jr., Fernando Rodney, Alexei Ramirez, and Andrew Cashner, who is currently on the disabled list, could also be in play.

It was reported earlier this month that Myers was drawing interest from rival clubs, but the 25-year-old is enjoying an excellent season, leading the team with 16 homers.
