Blue Jays' Jose Bautista: Testing out injury before Saturday's game

Bautista is testing out his injured thigh ahead of Saturday's game against the Orioles and manager John Gibbons is optimistic that the veteran outfielder will not need a stint on the DL, Blue Jays play-by-play announcer Mike Wilner reports.

Analysis:

The Blue Jays are waiting to see how Bautista's thigh is feeling before finalizing their lineup for Saturday's contest. Bautista exited Thursday's game with tightness in his right thigh and he was subsequently held out of Friday's lineup. If the Blue Jays opt to hold him out Saturday, Ezequiel Carrera will likely take over in right field. That said, the fact that Bautista is doing some running prior to Saturday's contest suggests he's nearing a return regardless of whether he's held out for one more game.
