Joel Peralta is reuniting with former skipper Joe Maddon.
The Chicago Cubs have agreed to a minor-league deal with the reliever, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, who adds that the right-hander will report to Triple-A Iowa.
The 40-year-old spent four seasons under the tutelage of Maddon on the Tampa Bay Rays, making 296 appearances from 2011 to 2014.
Peralta owns a career 4.00 ERA over 12 seasons in MLB, though that number is a much loftier 5.40 this season after 26 games with the Seattle Mariners, who released Peralta on Saturday.
