Royals' Alex Gordon: Begins light throwing

Gordon (wrist) began light throwing and plans to swing a bat this weekend, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Gordon was sidelined with a broken wrist in mid-May and has admitted that his recovery has gone slower than he'd hoped. However, the 32-year-old resumed baseball activities earlier this month and is now prepared to take another step forward. While he is still in the beginning stages of his recovery, he's making strides and is still on track to return to the majors by the end of June.
