Nationals' Jayson Werth: Pops ninth homer in Friday's loss
Werth went 1-for-4 with a solo shot, his ninth home run of the season, in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Reds.
Analysis:
All of a sudden, Werth is on a tear, slugging three homers in the last five games to add nearly 50 points to his slugging percentage. He's still slashing just .225/.278/.423, but he could improve those numbers in a hurry if he stays hot. In a shallower format where he's been cut loose, he could be werth, err, worth picking up again.
