Tomlin almost squared in face after being blinded by sun

MLB.com

The sun was Josh Tomlin's worst enemy on Monday.

During the fourth inning of the Cleveland Indians' contest against the Texas Rangers, Juan Uribe tried to toss a ball back to Tomlin after an Adrian Beltre liner. The beaming sun, however, partially blinded the Indians right-hander, who nearly took a ball to the face.

Luckily for Tomlin, his face was fine as he dodged the throw, but the errant toss allowed Prince Fielder to advance on the misplay.

Beltre and Fielder would later score on Nomar Mazara's three-run home run, leaving Tomlin with a different kind of painful look on his face.
