"Some time, the homers are going to come," Gregory Polanco, the Pirates' precocious right fielder, recently told Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
That time came Monday.
During the sixth inning of his club's Memorial Day affair at Marlins Park, the 24-year-old smashed his first career grand slam, providing his club with a 7-0 lead with a mammoth blast to right-center off Miami reliever Jose Urena.
Two months into the 2016 campaign, his second full season with Pittsburgh, Polanco's now one home run shy of matching the career-high nine he established last year.
