Yankees' Alex Rodriguez: Not in Monday's lineup

Rodriguez is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Analysis:

Rodriguez is 1-for-16 with nine strikeouts since returning to action last Thursday, so manager Joe Girardi decided to give him a day to clear his head. Carlos Beltran will serve as the Yankees' designated hitter Monday with A-Rod out of the lineup.
