Chris Sale doesn't want his manager to take the heat for something he can't control.

After a phenomenal start to the season that saw the Chicago White Sox climb atop the American League, Chicago now sits third in the AL Central after losing six in a row.

But although it can be easy to blame the manager, the ace insists Robin Ventura has nothing to do with it.

"I don't think he gave up any runs," Sale told reporters. "I don't think he made any errors, and he's in the dugout the whole time. It's on us to win games. I understand people - I'll keep it that - want to point fingers and find blame. But at the end of the day it falls on the players."

After Sale pitched seven innings of one-run ball on Sunday, his bullpen coughed up three runs in the eighth to the Kansas City Royals.

That result came a day after the White Sox gave up a 5-2, seventh-inning lead, losing 7-5.

On top of the six-game losing streak, the White Sox have lost 14 of their last 18.
