Astros' Carlos Gomez: Will be activated Tuesday

Gomez (ribs) will be activated by the Astros on Tuesday and is expected to be in the starting lineup, MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports.

Analysis:

Gomez hasn't seen action since May 15, but will return to the Astros' lineup after barely exceeding the 15-day minimum. Although he struggled to the tune of a .238 OBP earlier in the year, perhaps the time off to deal with his health will get the 30-year-old back on the right track. In the short term, he'll be an immediate threat to the playing time of Jake Marisnick.
