Red Sox's Brock Holt: Limited to conditioning work

Holt (concussion) has not yet started baseball activities as he returns from a concussion, the Boston Globe reports.

Analysis:

Holt has been limited to conditioning work as his progress has been described as "small." When Holt is ready to return, he may not return as Boston's primary left fielder. He was slumping badly at the time the concussion was diagnosed, and his hitting has historically not held up in an everyday role. One thing going for him is that Blake Swihart, who is getting most of the starts in left field while Holt is on the disabled list, is just 3-for-19 since getting called up.
