Athletics' Billy Butler: Breaks long-ball ice in Saturday victory

Butler went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, three RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 12-3 victory over the Tigers.

Analysis:

The 30-year-old finally went yard in 2016 on what was his 71st at-bat of the season. He did it in definitive fashion as well, as the blast traveled 443 feet to dead center field off Tigers starter Matt Boyd. However, Butler had notably gone hitless in his previous 10 at-bats and is still struggling considerably, particularly against right-handed pitching.
