Braves' Williams Perez: No-decision despite solid outing Friday versus Marlins
Perez didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-2 victory over the Marlins, surrendering seven hits, two earned runs and a walk over six innings. He struck out three.
Analysis:
The 25-year-old has mostly pitched well during May, giving up a total of only three earned runs over three of his four starts. As usual, the strikeout totals are modest with Perez, but he's done an outstanding job of keeping the ball on the ground and thus, in the park. He's surrendered only two homers on the season, and double-digit ground balls in three of his last four trips to the mound. His mostly solid work this month has helped his ERA shrink from 5.11 to its present 3.72 figure.
