Tigers' Justin Upton: Returns to lineup Friday

Upton (quadriceps) is back in the lineup for Friday's game against the A's.

Analysis:

Upton is making his first start since Saturday after he missed the entire series against the Phillies with quadriceps tightness. He's back in the order Friday, batting sixth and playing left field against Sean Manaea and the A's. Prior to sitting out with a sore quad, Upton had begun to turn things around at the plate, bating .269/.345/.346 in his last seven games.
