Blue Jays' Devon Travis: To be activated Wednesday

Travis (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list Wednesday, MLB Network's Jon Morosi reports.

Analysis:

The talented young second baseman has been rehabbing at High-A Dunedin and Triple-A Buffalo in recent weeks and he was not expected to rejoin the team for its current series against the Yankees. However, Travis has progressed to the point where he's ready to go, so he'll be activated ahead of Wednesday's contest. It's unclear if he'll immediately rejoin the lineup, but once he works into his regular role at second base, Darwin Barney and Ryan Goins will see reduced playing time at the keystone. Travis hit .273 with two doubles in 22 at-bats during his rehab assignment.
