Rockies' Eddie Butler: Moves to bullpen in Tuesday's loss
Butler came on in long relief to toss 2.2 shutout innings in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Red Sox.
Analysis:
It looks like the return of Jorge De La Rosa (groin) from the DL may have temporarily cost Butler his rotation spot, but he may not be in the bullpen for long. In order to make room for De La Rosa, the Rockies sent struggling starter Jordan Lyles to Triple-A Albuquerque, so there now appears to be another opening in the rotation. Along with Butler, Chris Rusin is another option the next time the Rockies need a fifth starter.
