Angels' Jhoulys Chacin: Takes loss against Rangers

Chacin (0-1) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings in a loss Tuesday against Texas.

Analysis:

Although Chacin has an unsightly 4.67 ERA in his three starts for the Angels, he has two quality starts in his three outings for the new club. Chacin's only big mistake was a two-run home run by Nomar Mazara. However, Chacin's control was shaky all night (11 first-pitch strikes to 25 hitters), and he was in too many hitter's counts to expect to get away with all of them.
