Indians' Joba Chamberlain: Placed on 15-day DL

Chamberlain was laced on the 15-day DL on Monday with a strained left intercostal, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Analysis:

Chamberlain has had a great season thus far, posting a 1.93 ERA and 0.86 WHIP through 14 innings of relief for the Indians. Ryan Merritt will be called up until Chamberlain is fully healthy.
