Pirates' Jung Ho Kang: Could have come off the bench Sunday

Kang (hand) could have come off the bench Sunday if necessary despite not being in the starting lineup, according to the Pirates' staff, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Kang hit in the batting cages Sunday, and was ready to go despite the hand injury he suffered Saturday. He was replaced by David Freese for Sunday's game, but it's good news that the injury wasn't serious enough to compromise Kang availability completely.
