All things considered, Mike Moustakas got pretty lucky on this play. Alex Gordon, not so much.

The Kansas City Royals' third baseman and left fielder ranged into foul territory at U.S. Cellular Field while trying to catch Melky Cabrera's foul pop-up in the seventh inning, and narrowly averted a knee-on-knee collision. Both players went flying to avoid contact, with Moustakas doing an impromptu barrel roll to get out of the way.

Not only was Gordon was unable to squeeze the ball for the out, but his head smashed against the rolled-up tarp, and his neck appeared to snap back. The 32-year-old appeared dazed and was slow to get up. He finished the inning in left field, but was lifted for pinch-hitter Whit Merrifield in the top of the eighth.

The Royals announced Gordon passed his concussion tests and is being listed as day to day with a right wrist sprain, according to Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star.
