Heyward diagnosed with contusion near ribs
The Chicago Cubs caught a bit of a break Saturday.
The team announced right fielder Jason Heyward will only miss three-to-five days with a contusion near his rib area after crashing into the wall while making a spectacular catch in Friday's game.
Heyward robbed San Francisco Giants outfielder Denard Span in the first inning of Friday's game, ranging into AT&T Park's infamous "Triples Alley" to make a tremendous running catch. He crashed into the wall while doing so, and immediately grabbed his side before leaving the game with help from the Cubs' trainers.

After Friday's contest, the 26-year-old revealed he didn't suffer any broken bones on the play. He underwent an MRI on Saturday which found the contusion.
Heyward said Saturday that while he's still quite sore, things are feeling much better overall.
"Last night of course we found out no bones were broken, then today (the) MRI (came) back (and it) didn't look like anything (was) structurally damaged, so that's good news," Heyward told reporters. "(I'm) feeling a lot better today (than) from last night.
"I'm lucky," he added. "Very, very lucky."
With Heyward out of action for a few days, the Cubs activated outfielder Matt Szczur from the 15-day disabled list to provide an extra bench bat.
