Giants' Denard Span: Steals fifth base Tuesday

Span went 1-for-4 with a walk and a steal in Tuesday's win over San Diego.

Analysis:

Span has put together a strong month of May (.295/.386/.377) after struggling out of the gates in April. His ability to get on base atop the Giants' lineup makes him a great source of runs and steals. Tuesday's steal was his fifth of the year, and a clean bill of health will almost assuredly have him swiping 20-plus bags by the end of the season. Span isn't a terribly exciting player to own, but he has definitely been a usable option in a season in which speedy outfielders -- Delino DeShields, Billy Hamilton, Ben Revere to name a few -- have been generally disappointing.
