Twins' Joe Mauer: Homers in second straight game
Mauer hit his second home run, a solo shot, in a 1-for-4 game in Tuesday's loss to Detroit.
Analysis:
Mauer had been in a mighty slump, going just 6-for-42 in his past 12 games and without an extra-base hit dating back to May 1. Even with the desperately needed homer, Mauer's batting line sits at .274/.389/.378 as the promising power he showed in April hasn't carried over into May.
