What would an X-Men team look like if it were made up of MLB stars?

With "X-Men: Apocalypse" set to hit the big screen, it's a perfect opportunity to imagine which big leaguers most resemble the prime characters from the movie.

Here are seven MLB personalities that can be compared to the superheroes and supervillains:

Havok - Giancarlo Stanton

Havok generates huge plasma blasts, similar to Giancarlo Stanton's moonshot home runs. The superhero's flaw, though, is he has problems controlling his superpower, and Stanton can definitely relate given his sporadic power outages at the plate.

Nightcrawler - Jose Altuve

Who wouldn't want a pest on their side? That's exactly what Nightcrawler is, as he's the definition of "You can't kill what you can't see." Altuve demonstrates that too, as the undersized spark plug is a headache for opposing pitchers at the plate and on the bases.

Cyclops - Tyler Clippard

When Clippard is on, he's on. But when he's off, his team is in big trouble. Cyclops shoots lasers out of his eyes when he lifts his glasses, and his squad never knows if he's going to help them in combat or doom them in the field. The Diamondbacks are still waiting for Clippard to help the club out.

Beast - Evan Gattis

Despite his superhuman strength, Beast is surprisingly agile. The transformation from normal human being to monster - in Beast's case, permanent animal - perfectly fits Gattis, the strong and sneaky-fast Astros slugger who led the team in triples a year ago.

Professor X - R.A. Dickey

The founder of the X-Men, Professor X can read and control the minds of others. Dickey can't quite do that, but his ability to be a clubhouse leader, especially with the younger pitchers, makes him an asset to the Blue Jays. His knuckleball also has the ability to mesmerize opposing hitters.

Magneto - Rougned Odor

A supervillain north of the border, Rougned Odor is public enemy No. 1 in Canada. Odor has a history of starting brawls, and like Magneto, the scrappy second baseman defies the unwritten rules of the game. He also has a knack for trying to take on multiple enemies at once.

Apocalypse - Bryce Harper

Aside from the fact that he heals himself, teleports long distances at an alarming speed, and has myriad mutant abilities, Apocalypse has a following. It's almost like a cult, and followers come of their own will - he doesn't have to convince them. Since Harper broke into the majors, fans have flocked to him for his attitude, power, swagger, and pursuit of changing the game. The more followers he gets, the stronger he becomes.
