Marlins' Jose Fernandez: Strikes out 11 in second straight start Sunday

Fernandez (5-2) allowed just one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 11 in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Nationals.

Analysis:

The one run that Washington did get across the plate was hardly Fernandez's fault, as Marcell Ozuna and Giarcarlo Stanton collided in the outfield to give Ryan Zimmerman an inside-the-park home run. Fernandez now has back-to-back outings with 11 strikeouts, giving him a fearsome 69:23 K:BB in 47.2 innings on the season to go along with a 3.21 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. His next start will be a rematch at home against the Nats on Saturday.
