Boston Red Sox left-hander David Price looked like the dominating pitcher of old on Thursday against the Houston Astros at Fenway Park. Though, he may give some of the credit behind his turnaround to Dustin Pedroia, who helped fix a flaw in the southpaw's mechanics prior to the start.

Price used the adjustments in his delivery to strike out 12 Astros over 6 2/3 innings, and even former Red Sox great Roger Clemens was impressed.

"His mechanics are fantastic ... I love the angle in his delivery," Clemens - the owner of 4,672 strikeouts - said of Price during an interview with NESN, after taking a look at a graphic which showed a difference in his delivery from seasons prior.

Along with Price tweaking his delivery, Clemens believes that the 30-year-old may have just needed some extra time to adjust to surroundings.

"Even when changing teams, a veteran like David is going to have to get a set routine here at this ball park and settle in where he wants to," Clemens explained. "This is a situation where you want to work on this on your side work, try and settle in, try and put it into play if you can.

"He's good enough though that if a pitching coach or somebody tells him something he can put it into play within one or two pitches."

Price - who signed a seven-year, $217-million contract with the Red Sox in the offseason - had struggled to a 6.75 ERA while allowing more hits (45) than innings pitched (41 1/3) prior to Thursday's start.
