Matt Harvey will start on Tuesday after all.
After days of speculation following his worst start of the season on Thursday, the New York Mets announced Saturday the right-hander will make his next regularly scheduled start on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals, doing so on regular rest.
Consideration had been given to Harvey starting Monday's game in Washington on short rest after he threw just 61 pitches on Thursday.
The 27-year-old has struggled throughout this season, but it all came to a head on Thursday at Citi Field. Harvey lasted just 2 2/3 innings against the Nationals while allowing nine runs - six of them earned - on eight hits, and was booed off the mound.
