Watch: O's walk-off Yankees in 10th on Alvarez's sac fly

The last time the Baltimore Orioles shut out the New York Yankees in an extra-inning affair was July 21, 1943. Pedro Alvarez felt they were overdue.

On Thursday, after watching any and all offense get stymied by the likes of Masahiro Tanaka and Kevin Gausman et al for nine innings, Alvarez edged his new club past the Yankees, 1-0, with a walk-off sacrifice fly off Andrew Miller that plated Nolan Reimold in the bottom of the 10th inning.

"The biggest thing is us winning against this team," Gausman told reporters. "[The Yankees] really wanted to win tonight, and I think this would have been their first back-to-back wins [on the road] since last year. Especially the guys who came through at the end of the game, Pedro and (Hyun Soo) Kim. You can't write it up any better."
