Blue Jays' Edwin Encarnacion: Busts out of slump with long ball

Encarnacion went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer Wednesday against the Rangers.

Analysis:

The slugger had been ice cold recently, going 1-for-21 over the prior six games, but he was showing signs of breaking out of it by walking thrice in the last two. There's nothing in Encarnacion's batting profile that suggests his average should continue lingering in the .230s as it is currently -- in fact, he's sitting on a career-high line-drive rate right now -- so expect production more in line with his normal rates moving forward.
