Rays' Steve Pearce: Launches solo homer in Tuesday loss
Pearce went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Tuesday's 10-5 loss to the Dodgers.
Analysis:
The veteran tagged former Rays stalwart Scott Kazmir with the bases empty in the fifth for his second homer in his last four starts. Pearce has proven to be a solid addition to the Tampa attack, and has now reached base safely in five straight contests. He's displayed above-average plate discipline as well, whiffing only six times in 46 at-bats. Pearce's .283/.365/.435 line has manager Kevin Cash contemplating the possibility of providing him with additional opportunties beyond strict platoon situations.
